Americas Colton Brookshire (Team Specialized) showed his sprinting form today when he took Stage 2 of the Scott Bicycles Junior Tour. Following a 188km stage around East Clare and finishing with the fast run into Barefield, the pace was furious from the start with not much getting away. After Killaloe and the shores of Lough Derg, 4 riders went clear, Ronan Tuomey (Ireland), Charles Velez (Team Specialized), Cliff de Piejper (RSC de Zuidwesthoek) and Micah Milne (Holowesko Citadel) and achieved a lead upwards of 45 second, scooping the KOH points along the way. However they were caught by the chasing peloton on the run into the finish in Barefield where Brookshire proved strongest from Jake Gray (Ireland) and Gage Hecht (Hot Tubes).
The yellow jersey of Matteo Jorgenson (Hot Tubes) retained his yellow jersey while Brookshire wears the points jersey and Velez wears the Mountains Jersey. Liam Holowesko (Hot Tubes) wears the 1st year junior jersey on behalf of Jorgenson.
