Walsh draws first blood for Ireland

A strong early tailwind proved to be a deciding factor as Team Ireland paced three riders in the top 10 with Ben Walsh setting a course record in Ennis this evening (Tuesday). Walsh clocked a time of 7minutes 47 seconds for the 6.3km test from Clareastle to Drumquin. Walsh now holds a 6 second advantage over Gaelan Kilburn from the visiting Hot Tubes team from the United States.

Kilburn leads the Clare County Council 1st year Junior Classification going into Stage 2, a 109km route around the scenic west coast of clare departing Clare County Council buildings in Ennis at 12 noon.
