The route for the Quanta Capital Junior Tour 2025 has been unveiled with a total of 595 kilometres of County Clare and Galway roads set to be the arena for this years competition.

Visiting County Clare for the 10th occasion in 2025, the six stages unveiled provide a mix of tried and tested routes, some modifications to other routes and the introduction of a new stage on stage 5.

Starting on Tuesday evening the 8th July, the riders will undertake the same 63 kilometre stage that was used in 2024. The mixture of the fast roads early on the stage followed by the climb of Maghera is normally a good opener to the event which normally sees a bunch sprint in Barefield.

Stage 2 on the 9th of July is predominantly a repear of previous editions as the riders embark on the 96 kilometre route from Ennis, down the Shannon Estuary into West Clare to finish in Kilkee. One small adjustment on previous years will see the race circumnavigate the town of Kilrush, spending more time along the banks of the River Shannon before rejoining the traditional route towards the Kilkee Cliffs and descending down into the finish on the promenade in Kilkee. The level of the wind coming in from the Atlantic Ocean onto the Kilkee Cliffs will determine if another bunch sprint is on the cards or if some escapees can take the spoils.

Stage 3 is the reloacted East Clare stage that was stage 5 in 2024. Departing from Ennis, the riders will race 115 kilometres into East Clare towards Scarriff and Maghera before turning back towards Caher Lake and Flagmount. In an adjustment to 2024 the race will bypass the town of Gort at Kilbecanty and finish on the outskirts of the town from the Galway side. A traditionally fast stage in the sheltered roads of East Clare could yet again see another bunch sprint into Gort.

Stage 4 is the queen stage, starting from Ennis the riders embark on a tough 122.8 kilometres into the Burren taking in the categorised climbs of Carron and Castle Hill while also being exposed to the elements along the coast road through Fanore and Doolin. Following the ascent of Castle Hill with the Aran Islands in the background, the riders will then race a fast finale to finish into the village of Kilfenora where in 2024 a solo escapee took the glory from the chasing bunch.

Stage 5 is a new stage for 2025 and is 118 kilometres back out in East Clare. Racing towards Broadford, the riders will ascend the climb of Sallybank before racing towards Kilalloe. Arriving in Killaloe the riders will descend through the finish line towards Scarriff and Feakle before returning back towards Killaloe along the shores of Lough Derg before climbing the short 8% climb of the new Killaloe By-Pass to the finish. It is here that gaps may open and the race could be decided.

Stage 6 is a reversion to the previous format in 2023 and is a 79 kilometre circuit race on the outskirts of Ennis. Normally being a flat stage, it is a final opportunity for a bunch sprint and to finalise the winner of the Quanta Capital Junior Tour 2025 and take the JJ McCormack Cup.
